Kevin Duffin graduated with a 1st Class Honours degree and PhD in Electronic & Electrical Engineering from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, in 2002 and 2007 respectively. He gained over 10 years’ experience in engineering projects in Glasgow, becoming a subject matter expert in electro-optic instrumentation and laser-based gas sensing systems, authoring and co-authoring over 20 technical papers. 

Kevin moved to Aberdeen in 2013, joining Maritime Assurance and Consulting Ltd. and has since become specialised in DP assurance and marine electrical systems and instrumentation. As a DP Practitioner and Electrical Engineer, he is experienced in the production of FME(C)As for DP systems and mission equipment; DP/power system incident investigations and marine power systems’ health analysis. He is an experienced DP technical trainer and has presented peer-reviewed papers at international conferences on the subject of DP assurance. Kevin is also an IMCA Accredited DP Trials & Assurance Practitioner. 

Over the last ten years, Kevin has advanced from consultant to senior consultant to management level. He joined AMS Global Group’s Marine Technical Department in January 2021 and is the company’s DP and E&I Projects Manager.
